Kennet and Avon Canal 2007

This was our third trip on the canal and our second time with Sally boats, this time going east from their yard near Bradford-Upon-Avon.  The Sally Boats website Sally Boats is very good and contains all the information that is needed for successful trips.  The boat was named Eve, 69 feet long, ideally suited to out ageing crew because we could all sleep low level rather than bunks and John and Adrian had the luxury of doubles berths.

Crew were David King (Captain), Adrian King, John Parmenter, Steve Platt, Prof Martin Cranage and Dr Mike Addlesee.

Stopping points were Saturday bridge 160, Sunday Devises wharf, Monday Wilcott village, Tuesday near Crofton top lock just past disused railway bridges, Wednesday Devises Wharf again, Thursday Sells Green just past bridge 149, Friday Bradford-Upon-Avon, for short trip in the morning back to the yard.
