Trent & Mersey and Shropshire Union 2000

This year the plan was to do the Cheshire ring, for several of this crew it have been their first time, since the last trip was in 1990.  The boat was hired from Claymoore Navigation Preston Brook.  We would highly recommend them to you, they have an excellent fleet and the personal service is to a very high standard indeed.

The route was closed on the Rochdale, Adrian's paperwork says "Rochdale injuncted", so we were unable to cruise the Cheshire ring, instead we had to go south to Middlewich, then to Barbridge Junction and on to Chester.

John has passed some paperwork, a map and an alternative route suggestions sheet showing the canal closed somewhere on the Rochdale Nine.  It is well worth looking at the sheet, John is famous for his hard work on planning sheeets for our canal trips and also at the Radio club when he was a committee member.

We really enjoyed Chester and some of us visited the Wireless Museum.  More information needed on this trip please.

Adrian says Martin and he arrived on time and we were late because of stopping for a long lunch in a pub having switched off our Mobile phones.  As if...

Crew were Adrian King (Captain), David King, John Parmenter, Steve Platt, Dr Martin Cranage, Dr Mike Addlesee and for the last time Ted Chapman
