Friday 5th May Left Newbold rather late this morning (due to the all day opening mentioned previously, not to mention the dutch landlady and her sixties music collection) and proceeded slowly towards the Braunston Turn, knowing that by now most of the hard work was behind us so that we could take this last leg leasurely. There were only three locks today, but the heat of the afternoon made this seem enough for us. After a short stop at Braunston, to view the Marina and the village, we made it to Napton Junction by that time in the evening when the air has a calm cool feeling. We moored up by a canalside pub less than a mile from the boatyard and spent half an hour trying to remember which toothbrush was whos etc and ruffling all our clean clothes to fool our spouses into thinking we'd used them! So we're all off for a meal now, virtually the end of a perfect holiday. "Wish you were here" as they say!
